Day 1

Your adventure begins today as you arrive in Africa, King Shaka Durban International Airport.   Welcome to Durban, a city rich in culture. Your Safari Director/Ranger meets you at the airport and whisks you north to Emdoneni Lodge welcome to Zululand.   Emdoneni Lodge is situated on a small game farm, with sand forest vegetation. Walk with the wildlife including Zebra, Impala, Nyala and Red and Grey Duiker. Birdlife is abundant.   On arrival we get you checked in,  then a safari briefing and we’re off to witness a Cheetah demonstration experience these magnificent creatures close up with an opportunity to touch one.

Late afternoon we join for an up close and personal tour and learn more about South Africa’s endangered wild cat species, be mesmerized by the beauty of the Caracal (Lynx), enchanted by the playful Servile, astonished by the speed and agility of the Cheetah and delighted by the African Wildcat. View and photograph these amazing animals.  The aim of the Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Center is to care for wild Cheetahs, Servile Cats, African Wildcats and Caracal (Lynx), which have been orphaned or injured in the wild and are in need of care and rehabilitation.

You’ll feel officially welcomed to Africa over a delightful dinner at the lodge while hearing the African sounds.

Grand Zululand Safari

Day 2

This morning after breakfast we make our way over to Bayete into bush country. Nestled in the foothills of Hluhluwe, Bayete is home to the legendary, Jabulani one of the habituated elephants. Enjoy a talk and hear Jabulani’s, Rambo’s and Rachel’s history. Today you will be given a rare opportunity to feed Rambo and Rachel as well as touch Rambo’s ears, behind his tusks and even get to feel his tongue!

After the Elephant interaction you will witness and experience traditional Zulu culture, dancing and more. Late afternoon we travel towards South Africa’s first world heritage site iSimangaliso Wetland Park and overnight in St Lucia. We stay tonight at the idyllically located 4 star lodge within walking distance to all of the local restuarants.

Late afternoon we join a Sunset Boat Cruise on the St Lucia Estuary, the largest in Africa with more than 800 Hippo’s and 1200 Nile Crocodiles make sure you dont leave the camera.

Day 3

This morning we make our way over the scenic Hluhluwe hills a early wake up as we are travelling to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve the oldest proclaimed reserve in Africa this 96000 hectare reserve offers sights of the Big 5, Cheetah and Wild Dogs to mention just a few of the sights one may encounter while on a Open Game Drive Safari.

A spectacular game drive is planned, your personal game ranger has years’ experience in this reserve sit back and enjoy. Travel to hides, loops and look out points. Enjoy an open air barbecue while out in the African bush.   We return to St Lucia late afternoon, just enough time freshen up, as we set off to one of our concessions on a Night Drive Safari.

No holiday to Africa can be complete without experiencing the thrill and exhilaration of a Nocturnal Safari we go in-search of the elusive Leopard, Chameleons, Elephants and much more. Star gazing with open skies while listening to the bush rustle and come alive.

Day 4

This morning its bathing suits, sunblock as Bush and Beach outing awaits you as we travel to the Western Shores of iSimangaliso, it’s a slower paced day with ample time to relax, snorkel and enjoy the warm tropical waters while in a protected bay of Cape Vidal.   Your ranger will transfer you back to Durban this afternoon as this concludes you time with us.
