Safari updates Hluhluwe Game Reserve

Hluhluwe Game Reserve South Africa

Cheetah Hluhluwe Game Reserve

Yet another week has past and what a magnificent week it has been to be on a safari in Hluhluwe Reserve South Africa.

Our Safaris to Hluhluwe Game Reserve at present still depart at 5:00 am from St Lucia and picups are at 6:00 am the various gate either Memorial Hluhluwe Reserve or Nylazi Umfolozi Reserve. The sun now rises a lot earlier and the tempretures are rapidly increasing. This however does mean that we have not been spotting the magnificent Big 5. The weeks safari sightings included 4 seperate sightings of Lion, 5 Safari sightings of Elephant, Hyena, Buffalo and Rhino. The Night Drives into Isimangaliso Wetlands Park have also been tremendous with great safari sightings of Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo to mention but just a few.

The Black Umfolozi River is still running well and the grass is quickly growing in length. The sightings areas for the week included the river banks with spectacular sightings of Cheetah at no 17.

The most unusual visitor that we had on our safaris of the previous week included a Male Lion while enjoying a quick breakfast at Mpilla picnic spot. It is imperative that one stays vigilant should you venture out of your vehicle please ensure that at all times. Stay calm at all times and remain quite.

The clients while on Safari will most definately never forget that breakfast. The remainder of the day included sightings of Elephant, Buffalo and close ups of Cheetah walking within close proximaty to the game drive vehicle.

Until our next update…………
