Complete Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Durban International

Arrive at King Shaka International Airport Durban or the surrounding area of Durban. Your personal ranger will meet you and transfer you to St Lucia a mere 2,5 hours drive North. The afternoon your game ranger will take you on a introductory drive and enjoy a sunset drink. (Overnight 4 star Accommodation St Lucia)

Day 2 Big 5 Safari Umfolozi Game Reserve

Early departure with your game ranger to the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa 96000 hectares of wilderness to explore on a Open Game Drive Safari, enjoy incredible sightings, bush catering and a chance to enjoy a traditional South African Braai. Your passionate and experienced game ranger will ensure that you get to the best spots within the reserve without wasting anytime. This reserve is truly an iconic reserve. Day 3 Cheetah & Elephant Interaction

We travel to Bayete Zulu to enjoy wild African Elephant feeding and a chance for you to actually touch a African Elephant. Then late afternoon we travel to Emdoneni where you too may have a chance to touch Cheetah's at this rehabilitation center. Its a day of first hand encounters. Day 4 iSimangaliso Wetland Park

Departing after breakfast you will first hand discover while this area has been proclaimed as a world heritage site, travel by open game drive vehicle and enjoy a day of both bush and beach the tropical Indian ocean ensures year round bating conditions. Enjoy the migration of the mighty Humpback whales during the winter months. (Overnight 4 Star Accommodation St Lucia)

Day 5 Big 5 Safari Hluhluwe Game Reserve, Cheetah Rehab Centre

Early departure as you travel to Hluhluwe the northern side of the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve, scenery, wildlife and incredible animal sightings await you. Late afternoon you will stop over at Emdoneni Cheetah Rehab center for a chance to witness the various Cheetah's and other interesting wildlife at the center, just enough time for you to touch a Cheetah.

Day 6 Boat Safari and Night Drive Safari

Enjoy a relaxed morning with some free time, late afternoon Boat Cruise on the St Lucia Estuary, Africa's largest. Home to more than 800 Hippos, 1000 Nile Crocodiles and an abundance of Bird-life.

Then depart for a Night Drive Safari to go in search of the Nocturnal Wildlife in the Western Shores of iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Go in search of the elusive Leopard, Hippos, Buffalo, Elephants and much more.

Day 7 Wetlands Safari

Western Shores Bush Safari followed by a Zulu Cultural show.Yet another busy day awaits as you will enjoy a half day safari into the western shores enjoy some magnificent scenery and tremendous wildlife. Then sit back and enjoy Zulu Dancing, Culture and folk stories or yesteryear.

Day 8 Depart back to Durban

With memories to last a lifetime, we bid you farewell as we transfer you back to Durban to continue your discover of this incredible continent.

We booked a 7 night safari with Heritage. We had the most fantastic holiday and we could not have had a better experience. From our arrival at Heritage House where we were greeted with a really warm and friendly welcome from Thea to our day of departure Thea and the team at Heritage House went over and above in terms of the hospitality we were offered. The house is really comfortable and is a veritable home from home. Stacey the guide who accompanied us on our safaris was amazing, her knowledge about the bush and the animals therein was phenomenal. Stacey was totally committed to ensuring that we had an amazing experience and she most definitely succeeded. I would have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this excellent company we were looked after exceptionally well it truly was a holiday to remember.

My friend and I were visiting from Sydney and booked the 4 night package prior to joining a cruise. This package was incredible value. We stayed @HeritageHouse B & B for 4 nights where Thea made us most welcome. Also all the staff there. Their breakfasts are to die for as is their accomodation, so centrally located to the town.
The trips each day were just wonderful, from a full day safari to Hluhluwe- Imfolozi National Park, the oldest in Africa, including a BBQ lunch. We saw 2 elephants, many zebra, giraffe, buffalo, kudo etc. Then on day two our guide Stacey too us to the wetlands and spent time at the beach at Point Vidal and then a night safari spotting hippos wandering from the lake, chameleon, kudu plus many more animals. You do need to dress warmly though. Zane took us to Emdoneni Cheetah Reserve and also the Zulu Cultural Centre. Another great day.
Our final tour in the day we left was the hippo and croc tour which was great. I would thoroughly recommend Heritage Day Tours and Safari’s as it’s such good value.
